I Support Intolerance

I support intolerance, and always have.  There are certain things in this world that I won't tolerate, won't accept, and won't make room for.  No, we can't just agree to disagree.  You're wrong, I'm right, and you can take your new social experiment and stuff it where the sun don't shine.  Use a bucket of sand to make it easier.

I heard about this on Facebook, and had to check it out to see if there was actually any truth to it. Sadly, there is.  From Fox News: George Washington's Church Says Plaque Honoring First President Must Come Down
From the article:
Leaders at the church that George Washington attended decided that a plaque honoring the first president of the United States must be removed.

Christ Church in Alexandria, Virginia will take down a memorial marking the pew where Washington sat with his family, saying it is not acceptable to all worshipers.

“The plaques in our sanctuary make some in our presence feel unsafe or unwelcome," leaders said, a reference to the fact that Washington was a slaveholder.

"Some visitors and guests who worship with us choose not to return because they receive an unintended message from the prominent presence of the plaques.”

"Many in our congregation feel a strong need for the church to stand clearly on the side of 'all are welcome- no exceptions,'" they concluded.

A memorial to Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee will also come down.

The idiots in question have usurped authority at Christ Episcopal Church in Alexandria, Virginia,
118 N Washington St, Alexandria, VA 22314 phone: (703) 549-1450

which is now ruled (in part) by:
  • Noelle York-Simmons, Rector
  • Ann Gillespie, Senior Associate Rector
  • Heather VanDeventer, Associate Rector
  • Diane Murphy, Priest Associate

I wonder how all these learned women reconcile their way of life and their office with the Bible, in particular 1 Timothy 2:12 (KJV) But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

I would suppose that the old words have lost their meaning over time, or that when portions of the Scripture make them feel uncomfortable, that portion must be disposed of.  Pardon me ladies, but your comfort is not high on my list of priorities today.  Tomorrow isn't looking good either.

The same goes for anyone else who doesn't like seeing the honorable names of George Washington or Robert E. Lee in the church building, or anywhere else for that matter.  In spades.

George Washington founded this Church.  Robert E. Lee supported it heavily.  If that doesn't suit the current congregation, I'm not sorry and won't apologize.   Instead, I'll cheerfully tell them to move to Africa.   Zimbabwe, say, or maybe Togo.  I'm sure their anti-white sentiments will be welcome in those countries.

Those professional victims that are so easily offended should ask themselves why they hate white people, particularly white men.   If they're actually able to come up with an honest answer, we'll never hear it.

I suspect the real truth is that it's currently fashionable to be a victim, and to find someone to hate. Of course, you must deny you hate them, even while you're burning their house to the ground, or trying your best to destroy their life.

Washington, Lee, and their fellow congregants would never have stood for something like this, and it isn't about the removal of names.  It's about being a professional victim, being willfully ignorant, and it's about hating your neighbor.

Keep preaching the hate, bitches. Eventually your turn will come, and you'll be hated for what you are.

They didn't go far enough.
Their conscience' should demand that the church itself should be dismantled as it would always be known as the church Washington founded.
and they should look for work elsewhere.
Something else to destroy.

Can't add much to your excellently expressed opinion, except that the Episcopal Church has basically been a joke for a while now. I wouldn't be surprised if Washington and Lee wouldn't request the removals themselves.

---Now THAT is worth agreeing with...100%.
(using SAND when you can use broken glass? You're too easy on them...LOL)
---Those so=called church "leaders" need a cranial enema!
---Ahh...female church leaders (probably leftist to boot). There's the rub.
And YES, 1 Tim makes the call correctly (imho).
More "change for change sake"? That's a not really a good thing, is it?
---Alexandria is a town STEEPED in AMERICAN history (been there more than a few times a couple lifetimes ago), and it's sad to see the PCBS crowd detract from it or choose to deny what has already taken place.
---"Professional Victims"...that hits the nail on the head...EXACTLY what they are, and I'm sick and tired of every one of them.
---Oh, their Karma-Train IS a'comimn'...make NO mistake about that.

Very good post.

Stay safe out there.

Thanks guys. This is a very sad business, doubly so since half the congregation is male, and we're talking about a group of men who don't have the balls to insist on a male leader.
