Final Exams Have Been Canceled

Imagine this: You're working on your master's degree, or maybe your doctorate.  You take the necessary classes, you do your research and under the guidance of some aged professor, you write your thesis.  You defend your thesis in front of a small group of erudite men and women, and at the end of it all you are awarded your degree.  Your professor invites you out for a drink or two to celebrate.  Everyone slaps you on the back, shakes your hand, and wishes you well.

One week later the Powers that Be announce that the writing of a thesis is no longer required.  In fact, all that is necessary is that the candidate prove that sha-he (or whatever the PC gender neutral pronoun is these days) prove that sha-he attended the required classes and passed them - 65% grade point average or better - and that would be good enough.

So where has all your hard work gone?  How, exactly, precisely, do you feel about that?

Trigger warning: Profanity and racial, sexual slurs to follow.  Read at your own risk.

I caught this one the other day on a general news site, and could hardly believe my peepers.

From Fox News: NY Dropping Teacher Literacy Test Amid Claims of Racism

At a time when the United States has plummeted in the global rankings of education standards, one of the country’s largest states is poised to scrap a test designed to measure the reading and writing skills of people trying to become teachers.
Citing the fact that an outsized percentage of black and Hispanic candidates were failing the test, members of the New York state Board of Regents plans to adopt a task force's recommendation to eliminate the literacy exam, known as the Academic Literacy Skills Test, given to prospective teachers.
The tests.. came under intense scrutiny for their alleged racial bias, after just 46 percent of Hispanic test-takers and 41 percent of black test-takers passed it on the first try, compared with 64 percent of white candidates.
Plus, critics said, the test's $131 price tag is too steep.
Despite a ruling by a federal judge in 2015 that the test was not discriminatory, faculty members at education schools say a test that screens out so many minorities is problematic.

From theblaze: New York to Eliminate Literacy Test for Teachers in Order to be More Diverse

A New York literacy test designed to weed out unqualified teachers, called the Academic Literacy Skills Test, is to be done away with by the New York State Board of Regents as suggested by a task force according to The Associated Press.
The reason for eliminating the test is due to the fact that whites predominantly pass the exam at 64 percent, while other minorities such as blacks and latinos, pass the test with a 46 percent and 41 percent success rate respectively.
Pace University Professor Leslie Soodak said that “Having a white workforce really doesn’t match our student body anymore.”
According to AP, the test consists of questions that have multiple choice answers that should be easily passed by a 12th grade student.
So in spite of economic and racial discrimination, 46% of African Americans (or People of Color - whatever) managed to pass the test.  What no one is talking about is the final test score, but I'm willing to guess that those who passed this test worked hard at it, studied hard, and their work paid off.  It's likely that most of them passed with a high score.

Only 41% of the Latino community passed, but again I tend to think that those who passed are truly bilingual and worked hard at their education.

In spite of the test being clearly biased in favor of check-your-privilege whites, 36% failed the test, meaning that this elite cadré of trailer trash has got to be dumber than a bucket with a hole in it, and has no business in the educational system at all, unless they're hired as part of the janitorial staff.  No offense to the janitorial staff intended, by the way.  The same goes to the beaners and porch monkeys who failed.  Get out of the system and go back to collecting welfare, dealing drugs, and making babies; it's all you're good for.

This is a literacy test designed so that the average, the average, senior in High School can pass the stupid test.  It's multiple choice, so each question has a one in four or five chance of being correct just by random guessing.

This, by the way, is happening in New York.  The only surprise here is that it isn't California.

One unintended consequence of this new lowering of the bar is going to be lower wages.  You want to know the best way to increase your wage?  Create a labor shortage.  Raise the bar on teacher certification and you'll create a shortage, absolutely guaranteed.  You'll also increase the quality of labor, but that's an unintended benefit.  As the shortage worsens, wages go up so as to attract someone - anyone, please, we need the help! - who is willing to come in and pound some sense into the little monsters.

But sadly none of that is going to happen, and you can thank the SJWs, moonbats, and feminazis for their help in lowering the bar.  Good job, you DFCs.  Now the teachers in the school system are dumber than ever, and over half of them won't be able to speak intelligible English, let alone read and write it.  Just imagine some dumb fat black woman assigning The Learning Tree or Lord of the Flies to her English class, then not being able to read it herself.  And you can forget all about Huckleberry Finn - the language, you understand.

What should really be happening is that the teacher's test scores should be published, along with any testimonials from prior students.  The parents and the student should be able to interview prospective teachers before school starts, and hopefully enroll in classes where the instructor is something more than a politically correct, diverse sponge, sucking up tax dollars and producing damaged students as a result of our government in action.

Home school your kids, or send them to a private school.
