My thanks to Old NFO at the The Gun Blog Black List for these two timely bits of information. If you own a Walther, I'm envious. However, there is a recall on CCP models. You can read about it here: The Gun Blog Black List: Walther Recall. Basically, if you chamber a round, put the safety on, then drop the pistol, there's a chance the damned thing will go off.
Trigger Warning: Bad language ahead. Proceed at your own risk.
In other news (again, courtesy of The Gun Blog Black List), if you've ever shot at the Peacemaker National Training Center (1624 Brannons Ford Rd. Gerrardstown, WV 25420), you'll be interested to know that a local judge has ordered that all personnel records be turned over to the court. For the children. Basically, two pinheads (Ben and Diane Goldstein) decided the range was making too much noise and filed a complaint with the court system. Local exempts gun ranges from any and all noise ordinances, but the court refused to dismiss the case and instead sided with these freedom hating commie bastards. My point is that if it happened in West Virginia, it could and probably has happened anywhere else. Don't just sit back and take it - fight back and use the media as best you can.
In the past, Second Amendment advocates were always cautioned to be polite, not to make a fuss, be careful of their language, and move along quietly. That approach hasn't worked. I advocate speaking out, especially in writing.
This judge should be disbarred, tarred, feathered, and ridden out of town on a rail. The Goldstein family could be given a choice: Shut the Fuck Up, or Shut the Fuck Up.
The real difference between the parties involved is that if the Goldsteins ever showed up at the gun range to shoot, they'd very likely be made welcome. I've found that gun owners are pretty quick to forgive and forget. I think it comes from the self-reliant, live and let live mentality that is often displayed.
Anyway, don't just sit there. Speak up.
