Here's the deal. Glen Filthie over at Filthie's Thunderbox will, occasionally, post something that isn't an obvious troll or click bait or... whatever. Whenever I'm inebriated impaired enough to rise to the occasion and contribute my two cents, it's a crapshoot as to whether or not the comment will vanish. I've noticed that the same thing is true on other blogger sites, although I Glen's is the only site I've really tested. I think I've lost comments on Bayou Renaissance Man as well, although given my kind, considerate and sensitive nature I'm sure that no right-thinking blog owner would ever think of deleting my timely contribution.
As if.
I also posted on Old NFO's site: Nobody Asked Me... without a problem, but he isn't on Blogger.
The Internet in general seems to be slow, Blogger especially. Posting a comment takes 30 seconds or more.
So if anyone can shed any light on this, by all means sound off. If you'd like to post a test comment on my site to see what happens to it, help yourself.

I'm noticing the same thing... Definite slowdown on comment posting. I haven't checked to see if any of my comments have disappeared... It's been going on a couple of days now.
Slow posting, and other bloggers making same complaint.
Yeah - but I'm losing Jack's comments altogether sometimes. Whenever somebody comments on my blog it shows up in my email - and Jack's comments show up there but not on the blog for some reason...

The only thing I seem to notice is that Blogger has more bugs than a damn bait shop.
Funny, it didn't USED to have such issues a decade ago, but whoever runs the software "engineering": dept. isn't making the grade for folks like us.

I think this might be associated with the recent Net Neutrality crap, one way or another.
My other thought is that is a form of censorship. Given my political rants and non-pc posts about race, sex, equality, and retards, well, it might make some sense to delete whatever I post just on general principals. The thought being that I'll get discouraged and go away.

I've noticed the comments field taking long to publish, but they seem to show up. I mean, I press the send button and it just sits there for some time (15? 30? seconds), but then all is normal.
As a blogger user, I have No Freaking Idea how I could ban a commenter, delay a comment, or file a comment into Blogger's suspicious or spam folders. Blogger, on the other hand, puts a perfectly fine comment in one of those pretty much every day or two. And lets the Spammers through anyway.
The thing I was talking about, though, is at the top right of just about every blogger page I go to, there are the words "New Post", followed by "Design" (I see them if I'm logged in). Either of those was taking forever. It seems more normal today. Maybe Apu is back at work.
