Where Do We Go From Here?

Suppose you have neighbors, which is a big mistake on their part, but they're the ones who bought the shack next door, ignoring the flags and banners out front. White Lives MatterBlue Lives MatterI Support The Second AmendmentIllegal Aliens Will Be Shot - Survivors Will Be Shot Again... that type of signage. That, and your  Trump/Vance/Victory! sign.

You, a red blooded, whiskey swilling, natural born U.S. Citizen, have two little rituals you observe every day. At dawn, you have Trixie (a local exotic dancer) stop by and raise the American Flag while you blow Reveille on your trumpet. Trixie is dressed in a red, white, and blue bikini. At sunset, you have Candy (another exotic dancer) stop by and lower the flag while you play taps. Candy, being very patriotic, is also dressed in a red, white, and blue bikini.

Your neighbor objects. You ignore him. He calls the police, who arrive in time for taps. They stand at attention and salute the flag, admire Candy, and thank you for your service, support and patriotism. Then they advise you about your neighbor's complaints.

The local HOA gets involved, and you tell them (six elderly busybodies) to go fart up a flagpole. The HOA has a lawyer on retainer, so after six months you, the HOA, and the idiots next door wind up in court, Judge Paul Goldner presiding. After hearing more than anyone would care to about the case, the Honorable Judge Goldner commences to lecture. Blah-blah civic minded, blah-ba-blah peaceful neighborhood, blah blah noise ordinance, disturbing the peace, and menacing. Do you have anything you'd like to say?

"Judge, when they circumcised you, they threw away the wrong part."

Okay, then...

Ninety days and five grand later, you erect a new flagpole, celebrate your release, and resume your little 'good morning world!' flag ceremony.

I wrote this is the spirit of entertainment and to smoothly segue into today's malfunction. Keep reading all those of you with rhino hides and a penchant for common sense.

Ohio public schools are funded by Federal (maybe 2%), State (45%), and local / school district taxes, which are property taxes. The school district you live in wants more money -  name me one who doesn't - they propose a new property tax. Everyone votes, mainly the renters, the levy passes, and property owners get one step closer to the poor house. The last levy Columbus passed was high, and it was passed just a few months after they passed a killer size levy. Note that if this system were anything close to being equitable, only property owners would be allowed to vote on the levy. Ah, but that wouldn't be fair, would it?

The whole system got taken to the Ohio Supreme Court, which ultimately stated that the property tax system was and is unconstitutional. You can read about it here, but the decision was made back in 1997. So far nothing has changed except the amount every homeowner has to pay to keep these budding geniuses busy all winter. State legislators ignore this, because why open a can of worms you don't have to and risk losing the next election?

Out west we've got this fiasco in Denver, Colorado.  Denver Mayor Mike Johnston said he's prepared to be arrested to protect migrants illegal aliens.

The next Border Czar, Tom Homan, responded, "He's willing to go to jail, I'm willing to put him in jail".  Read about it here here, or not.

Me, I'd like to be there when the cops slap the cuffs on this swishy, asinine idiot. Just wait until he's subjected to a cavity search... what if he likes it?

Why did I write that? Now I'm sick to my stomach.

This is far from a unique case. The mayor of Columbus, Ginther, is just waiting for a chance to defy the Federal government, get arrested, perpetrate a huge media circus, and point to the number of illegal immigrants in Columbus, Ohio. It's publicity, and a chance to vilify the right wing and the police. Ginther hates the police. What Ginther really needs is a hickory massage and thirty days in genpop with those poor, misunderstood, peacefulish potential moonbats he's trying to use to get reelected.

The most serious example of defiance of authority that I've seen so far is in Pennsylvania. The Associated Press has declared Republican David McCormick the winner of Pennsylvania's U.S. Senate race, but Democratic incumbent Senator Bob Casey has refused to concede.

Rather than taking the argument out back behind the garage and settling it, the whole thing gets dumped in the lap of the state supreme court.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court its own self issued a ruling reiterating its previous stance that undated or misdated mail ballots should not be counted in the 2024 election. Period, exclamation point. This puts the moonbat incumbent, Bob Casey, out on the street.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court 4-3 ruling (guess the political party), which was requested by the Republicans and opposed by the Democrats, followed moves by elections officials in Democratic-controlled counties — including Philadelphia, Bucks, and Montgomery — to have the ballots counted despite the high court instructing them to exclude those votes earlier in the year. The ruling applies to all counties.

The election officials decided to defy the State Supreme Court ruling and do as they please. That, I believe, is an insurrection.

If I were to predict anything, I'd say that absolutely nothing will happen to correct the unconstitutional public school funding in Ohio. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

The Denver Colorado Mayor, Mike Johnston, will be arrested with all due fanfare, then released after spending eight hours in the hoosegow. There will be a lot of noise, and some illegal aliens will be arrested. Several will be violent felons, one may be a serial killer or an enforcer for MS-13.

Pennsylvania? I don't know. What this amounts to is a government approved illegal election. It's not happening in Ohio, so my involvement is limited, but my thought is that President Trump is not above arresting the leaders and giving them their own little cell in Guantanamo.

Have a good Thanksgiving.
