Neighbor Problems

My neighbors, who we'll call Mortimer and Persephone, are still having trouble with their next-door neighbor, Tyrone.  A few of you may remember Tyrone from an earlier post in 2018, Noisy Neighbor Problems.  If not, no worries.

The Midnight Shooter

I don't know if I've mentioned this guy before or not, but he's at it again.  I've dubbed him The Midnight Shooter.  Last night around 1:30 AM he torched off 7 rounds - probably 8, as I was asleep and the first shot woke me up.  Anyway...

I decided to report the incident to the local cops (Columbus PD) and filled out a report online.  I don't expect it will do any good, one way or another, but there you have it.

I don't care if this man torches off a few rounds, I just wish he'd do it earlier.

What can I say?  I get bored easily, and so wade through the spam to find that one singularly important personal question that I'm sure I can answer correctly.  Here were have a young man who thinks he's trapped between Scylla and Charybdis, when he's really just horny as hell and doesn't know what to do about it.  Shades of Eros, what should I tell him?

RFI / Question on Concealed Carry

My carry pistol is a Ruger LCP II in .380 with iron sights only - I took a pass on the laser sight for personal reasons.  I use a sticky holster and carry in my right front pocket.

Question: Should I be carrying this with a round in the chamber?

If I somehow knew for certain sure that I'd never in all my life be in a rush to pull my gat and put lead in the air, then I'd say no - don't put one up the pipe.  Now, on the other hand, I kind of think I should have one in the chamber, ready to go.  The thing is, the LCP runs like a Glock.  The only safety is between my ears (stop laughin' you bums in the back!) and I'm a bit timid of somehow torching one off and doing myself a mischief.

What do you guys think?

Wedding Pix

You've seen one, and you think you've seen 'em all.  You haven't.  Believe me, you haven't.

Last Friday I climbed into the shotgun seat of Big Mike's new Jeep and headed northeast for a twelve hour drive.  I'm not what I used to be, and it isn't the age - it's the mileage.  We rolled into chez Shotgun Bob before midnight.  The wedding being scheduled for the next day, we failed to tie one on.

The ceremony was scheduled for 2:00 PM, which translates into three and change.  Big Mike and I got seats where we could sit.  Then the groom showed up and the groom's men (groomsmen?) struggled in.  Below is a picture that says it all about the assemblage.

The above photo could accurately be referred to as a harbinger of the things to come.

The dinner was great.  The chef (I gather it was the groom's brother) did a magnificent job with the barbecue grill, but the truly outstanding dish was the barbecue chicken.  Seasoned and marinated just right, tender and juicy, it was a direct opposite of chicken that I usually find at any dinner event.

After dinner Big Mike and I repaired to the bar, where Mike made a few painkiller cocktails.  They were delicious, but you don't dare drink one when you're thirsty.  The drawback?  Click to keep reading, but brace yourself.

Times is Hard

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to write these days.  Between the fatally wounded economy, the continuing promises of COVID-19 deaths that just aren't happening, and the alphabet soup of hate groups predicting a violent response should President Trump be elected to a second term - we're living in interesting times.
