First Presidential Debate 2020

I watched President Trump 'debate' ex-Vice President Joe Biden last night (Tuesday, September 29th, 2020).  It was a three martini debate.

My Tax Dollars at Work!

I had to renew my driver's license, and today was as good a day as any.  Why am I writing about this, you may ask?  Because if I don't, I'm going to go hunting for a clock tower.

Joe Biden versus The Truth

I don't expect to change anyone's mind with this missive.  What I hope to do is to point out just what people are voting for when they vote for Biden.

Nine-Eleven Opinion

On September 11th, 2001, the United States was attacked by an Islamic terrorist organization. There were four attacks, all of which were coordinated, three of which succeeded.  The attackers identified themselves as the Islamist terrorist group, al-Qaeda, hereafter referred to as cowardly Islamic trash.

Neighbor Problems

My neighbors, who we'll call Mortimer and Persephone, are still having trouble with their next-door neighbor, Tyrone.  A few of you may remember Tyrone from an earlier post in 2018, Noisy Neighbor Problems.  If not, no worries.

The Midnight Shooter

I don't know if I've mentioned this guy before or not, but he's at it again.  I've dubbed him The Midnight Shooter.  Last night around 1:30 AM he torched off 7 rounds - probably 8, as I was asleep and the first shot woke me up.  Anyway...

I decided to report the incident to the local cops (Columbus PD) and filled out a report online.  I don't expect it will do any good, one way or another, but there you have it.

I don't care if this man torches off a few rounds, I just wish he'd do it earlier.

Reddit Question: Should I or Shouldn't I?

What can I say?  I get bored easily, and so wade through the spam to find that one singularly important personal question that I'm sure I can answer correctly.  Here were have a young man who thinks he's trapped between Scylla and Charybdis, when he's really just horny as hell and doesn't know what to do about it.  Shades of Eros, what should I tell him?

Election 2020 - What If?

Reading Breitbart for lack of anything better to do, I came across this little gem:

Maxine Waters: Use 25th Amendment to Remove Trump from Office

Given that Waters is nothing more than a sub-human hate machine, spewing her vitriolic slander anytime the commercial media is around to report it as news, I was tempted to skip the nauseating details were it not for one important fact - Maxine Waters just spilled the beans and confirmed what I've suspected for over a year.

COVID-19 and You!

I fat fingered the keyboard and found author Sarah Hoyt's blog, According to Hoyt.  Sarah's a bit busy right now Taking Over the World and Leaving It Ruthlessly Alone, but she was considerate enough to provide a link to this article, Covid – by Galaxy Jane.

From the article:
As a medical provider (PA-C with ten years of practice and a focus in Adult Primary Care and Occupational Medicine) who was recently the poster child for physically fit, middle-aged adult with zero co-morbidities hospitalized with a severe COVID-19 infection, I’ve been given an unusual perspective on the disease process from the inside with lots of good colleague conversation and education from the doctors, respiratory therapists, nurses and others that have been on the front lines of the pandemic during the course of my stay. I came out of it with a strong desire to counteract the constant media fear-mongering...
Read the rest for yourself, and don't forget to thank Sarah for posting this one.

RFI / Question on Concealed Carry

My carry pistol is a Ruger LCP II in .380 with iron sights only - I took a pass on the laser sight for personal reasons.  I use a sticky holster and carry in my right front pocket.

Question: Should I be carrying this with a round in the chamber?

If I somehow knew for certain sure that I'd never in all my life be in a rush to pull my gat and put lead in the air, then I'd say no - don't put one up the pipe.  Now, on the other hand, I kind of think I should have one in the chamber, ready to go.  The thing is, the LCP runs like a Glock.  The only safety is between my ears (stop laughin' you bums in the back!) and I'm a bit timid of somehow torching one off and doing myself a mischief.

What do you guys think?

Quora Question: How can I surreptitiously signal...

I saw this one and couldn't resist.  I don't think my answer will get many up votes, nor will it last long.  But I might be wrong.  Keep reading to see some nameless fathead's question and my somewhat curmudgeonly response.

Wedding Pix

You've seen one, and you think you've seen 'em all.  You haven't.  Believe me, you haven't.

Last Friday I climbed into the shotgun seat of Big Mike's new Jeep and headed northeast for a twelve hour drive.  I'm not what I used to be, and it isn't the age - it's the mileage.  We rolled into chez Shotgun Bob before midnight.  The wedding being scheduled for the next day, we failed to tie one on.

The ceremony was scheduled for 2:00 PM, which translates into three and change.  Big Mike and I got seats where we could sit.  Then the groom showed up and the groom's men (groomsmen?) struggled in.  Below is a picture that says it all about the assemblage.

Typical Guest
The above photo could accurately be referred to as a harbinger of the things to come.

The dinner was great.  The chef (I gather it was the groom's brother) did a magnificent job with the barbecue grill, but the truly outstanding dish was the barbecue chicken.  Seasoned and marinated just right, tender and juicy, it was a direct opposite of chicken that I usually find at any dinner event.

After dinner Big Mike and I repaired to the bar, where Mike made a few painkiller cocktails.  They were delicious, but you don't dare drink one when you're thirsty.  The drawback?  Click to keep reading, but brace yourself.

Times is Hard

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to write these days.  Between the fatally wounded economy, the continuing promises of COVID-19 deaths that just aren't happening, and the alphabet soup of hate groups predicting a violent response should President Trump be elected to a second term - we're living in interesting times.

Happy Independence Day!

The United States is a nation with a colorful history, a predominant color being red.  We celebrate this on Independence Day, but today I'm wondering what I have to celebrate.

Fallout News and Predictions

I like to read UNZ every so often, mainly because they'll publish factual news you can't find anywhere else, and Fred Reed is the outstanding Op-Ed star.

I like Fred.

Fred didn't write the article I'm going to refer to below the fold, but he'll likely have something to say about it.

I'm not going to bother with the standard content warning - why bother?  I think I scared all the moonbats away years ago.

Riots and Fallout

The recent racial heat is still going strong, and we have yet to build a US Embassy or meet with the official ambassador from the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) area (country?), AKA Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, AKA Free Capitol Hill area.  But no matter, as somehow or another the world keeps spinning.

Rant follows.  Usual disclaimers about thin skinned moonbats and trigger happy SJWs apply.

How Bad Is It?

We, in the good old U.S. of A., have got COVID-19, a severely damaged economy, protests and riots over police brutality, and commercial media throwing gasoline on the fire.  How much worse can it get?

Well, I'll tell you - but the standard disclaimer applies.

Police and Funding

I don't see an end to the George Floyd fallout.  Derek Chauvin, (who took a knee), Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and Alexander Kueng are now ex-cops and have been charged by the persecuting attorney.  Given the results of the toxicology screen, I'm betting they all get a walk.  What won't happen is what the BLM, NBP, BAJI, COC, MBL, NAACP, etc. et al. actually want, which is a public drawing and quartering for Derek Chauvin, and a public flogging followed by a hanging for the other three.

Now the various MENSA rejects and fatheads are demanding that select city police departments be defunded, and remade in a kinder, more sensitive department.

Clue bat: This isn't going to produce the desired result.

Keep reading for an opinionated, politically incorrect and insensitive rant.

Protesters and Pepper Spray

Here in Columbus we now have a curfew.  Starting last night (Saturday, 5/30/20) at 10:00 PM and ending the next morning at 6:00 AM, no one is allowed to peacefully assemble for the purposes of political protest (or any other reason, because every time you get unsupervised youth congregating in a group without a clear purpose, you get destruction of private property and various other crimes)...

Can everyone see where I'm going with this?

I hope so.  Keep reading for some good news about the riots in Columbus last night.  As usual, those who object to free speech, politically incorrect statements, white privilege, black privilege... whatever.  Read at your own risk.

George Floyd Fallout

By now I'm assuming that everyone who might be reading this hound knows who George Floyd was and how he died - or was murdered, or simply cashed in his chips.  If not, follow this link and scroll down a way: Fox News Link, or read the summary.

In summary, George Floyd got busted when some nameless employee at a grocery store dropped a dime on him.  He-she-or-it told the cops that Floyd was passing funny money in the form of counterfeit twenties. Four cops showed up:

Derek Chauvin, who put the cuffs on Floyd, threw him to the ground, and then put his knee on Floyd's neck until he stopped breathing - and pretty much everything else. Chauvin was assisted by Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and Alexander Kueng.  The whole thing with the knee on the neck was recorded on video by an innocent bystander, then released into the wild.

All four cops are now ex-cops, having been fired.

George Floyd died on Monday, May 25, 2020 (Memorial Day) around 8:30 PM at a local hospital, but for my money he was probably already dead before they loaded into the meat wagon.  On Tuesday, the four officers involved were fired.  As of today, Derek Chauvin has been arrested.  We'll see what he's charged with.

Now for the point of this wildfire.

Rimworld - The Rift

Here's a good read if you like science fiction or space opera.  Author J.L. Curtis has just released Rimworld - The Rift on Amazon.  Here's the back cover:
Danny Ortega was a failure. He couldn't tolerate the implant to be a starship captain...

But Danny Ortega has run his deep space research vessel Ghost alone for years, flaky AI and all, mapping the most unstable and unexplored regions of the Rift for the Cartographers Guild. When his latest mission lands in a mass graveyard of ships, including some ships out of legend, lost for hundreds of years, the guild isn't happy with him.

He picks up a misfit crew out of the asteroids and the games begin!

Turns out he'll need them not just for research and salvage, but to help him keep his ship! As word gets out that he has artifacts and is returning remains, Danny finds he's gone from chasing a prize to becoming one himself...

Unfortunately for his enemies, Danny didn't get his own ship by being an easy target or giving up. His odd connections and crew have plenty of surprises up their sleeves, too!
At $4.99 it's a steal, and since most everyone is out of work right now you should do yourself and your S.O. a favor and pick up a copy.  It'll keep you entertained for hours and your Significant Other can go about their business in peace without you underfoot.

Cocktail: Test Pilot

Someone, and I can't remember just who, asked me what was new and (potentially) exciting the other day, to which I responded: Not a damned thing.

Which is a real blessing.  I have enough drama in my life already.  I don't need more.

All that being the case, Big Mike passed me a recipe for an unusual cocktail about a week ago.  Upon reading this latest formula for inducing an alcoholic haze, I wondered aloud if my chain wasn't being pulled.

I finally got the ingredients assembled.  Keep reading.

Need a Mask?

I found this on Knuckledraggin' and I'm re-posting it without permission.  My apologies if it offends any of the principals.

Do you need masks? AbbyS to the rescue!

From AbbyS:

May I ask a favor of you?  I'm currently laid off because of this asinine shut-down. Since I know how to sew & inherited my mom's stash of fabric (she who dies with the most fabric wins - she won) I'm making face masks to donate. If anyone needs a mask for their work, or to go out in public, they can let me know. All I ask is enough for postage. Overnight USPS is $7.75. $3.00 for regular postage & envelopes. Can you put the word out to your readers? I gotta' do something or go crazy. I don't want to read all my books before I go back to work, ya know?

I was going to charge $4.00 for regular masks & $7 for the kind with a pocket for HEPA filters, but I think I'd rather just donate them after all.

Presidential Election 2020 - What the Moonbats Are Up To

November's the month!  Get out there and vote for Donald Trump for a second term.  Should Trump win, the explosion of moonbat heads everywhere may cause a shift in the Earth's orbit.  Much of the Republik of Kalifornia will be underwater... well, I can hope, can't I?

In Direct Defiance!

What follows is a general description of the dinner.  Names have not been changed any more than usual.  Insults for all occasions have not been carefully thought out, but if anything occurs to me rest assured I'll deliver it with my best anti-moonbat style.

COVID-19 Question

If you believe the Ohio Department of Health, we now have 1,653 confirmed cases of Wuhan Flu in Ohio. 403 of these confirmed cases are in the hospital; 139 are in the ICU; 29 have cashed in their chips.

The median age of consumers in the hospital is 59, with 50% being male, 49% being female, and 1% being other.  If you have to ask about that last number, then you haven't been keeping up with Moonbat Social Media over the last ten years.

What commercial media hasn't been saying much about are the homeless population and the illegal immigrants.  I guess the illegals got wind of the Wuhan Flu and decided to settle in Mexico.  Or something.  But the homeless population?  If this Wuhan Flu were every bit as dangerous and contagious as the government seems to think it is, the virus would have ripped through the homeless population like a Kalifornia wildfire ripping through Paradise.  If it is, no one is reporting it.

As for me, I'm not worried about it.  I remain inside most of the time anyway (I don't like people all that much), and while I don't wash my hands as often as Adrian Monk, I'm getting a bit obsessive about it.

My thinking is that the best thing to do is break out the old RV and temporarily relocate to an Ohio county that has zero cases of COVID-19.  Park and stay a while.

On the Lecture Circuit

Here is a video of a licensed medical professional who is engaged in controlling the COVID-19 virus delivering a lecture about the virus and how to defend against it.

Dr. Brad Spellberg on COVID-19

This is one of those rare instances where the video really is worth the time it takes to watch it.  The questions from the audience have probably been screened for pertinence, and so contribute to the lecture.  What impressed me most about Dr. Spellberg is his preface and emphasis to several questions: We don't know.

WuFlu Cognitive Impairment

I can't remember where I picked up this particular label, but the acronym is WuFCI, and is pronounced wuff-see.  I'm blatantly using it without permission, but it's always better to seek forgiveness rather than ask permission.  In most cases, anyway.  So my sincere thanks to the designer or originator of this label.  It's a good one, and if you're reading this, know that you nailed the situation cleanly.

Dinner at Big Mike's

Last night NoFacebookEver Big Mike invited me over for dinner at his house.  I had an Old Fashioned infused with cinnamon smoke, followed by a gin sour with Beefeater gin, and white wine with dinner.  After dinner we had Ethiopian coffee - which you can't get anymore - and Drambuie straight up in a brandy snifter.

The dinner was magnificent.

Mike made shrimp étouffée, and I'm here to tell you that I had the absolute best étouffée available at any price in Columbus, Ohio.  A truly magnificent meal, and when I finally left for home, the leftover étouffée went with me.  Probably enough for a light lunch.

My thanks to Big Mike for his hospitality.

Today I went to my band new Kroger super store in the hope of picking up a very few items.  I pulled out at 10:00 AM and was back home by 11:00 AM, having found everything I was looking for - except paper towels.  I could use a roll of paper towels, but I can wait.

The most interesting part of this excursion was overhearing the cashier at the liquor store (inside Kroger's - it's Ohio law, and it's every bit as stupid as the elected officials who wrote it and the governor who signed it) say that Kroger's store manager closed the store down at 6:00 PM yesterday (Sunday, 3/15/2020) due to over-crowding.  Go figure.

We got us a genuine nine-one-one mayday emergency here.  I just got word from a reliable source that there is right now, this very minute, a certified case of COVID-19 in Togo!

That's Togo, Africa.

Buddy, Can You Spare a C-Note?

I graduated High School in 1970, mainly because they didn't want to see my ugly pan in the principal's office every other morning, truancy being the reason for the office visits, and a genuine hatred of being in prison being the reason for truancy.  Back then public school was based on the prison model, with the school teachers as the prison guards and the principal as the warden.  Rules of conduct were applied arbitrarily, as was the punishment for infractions of same.  The guards favored corporal punishment - you got a beating when when of the guards took a dislike to you.

Think I'm kidding?  Ask anyone from that era who attended public school.  I hear Catholic school was worse.

Private school was a good deal different.  Several of my close friends attended Maumee Valley Country Day School, including my brother Shotgun Bob.  So naturally I'm on their mailing list.

A few months back my brother Big Mike informed me that Dweezil Zappa (the late Frank Zappa's son) was on tour and playing Frank's music.  The tour was landing in Columbus in March, and I was going.

RFI False Statistics

My site is hosted by Blogger, mainly because I didn't know what else to do when I originally started this mess.  There have been a few potholes in my driveway, but not much I couldn't handle.

Until now.

Now, and by that I mean over the past 90 days, I notice that some of my posts are getting pageviews or hits that I strongly suspect come from a bot.  My reasoning is that certain restaurant reviews are much more popular than anyone would expect, and while I (so far) have no way of telling just who it is that's looking at which post and for how long, I know that some of the Referring URLs and Referring Sites are from such URLs as http://aubepine.best/ and http://arrent.best/ (actual site names).

There are others, but all have the .best suffix.  When I click on one, I sometimes get a page that displays phone numbers.  Suffice to say, I'd like to block these idiots, whoever they may be.

Would someone with a good deal more knowledge than I have point me in the right direction?

Quora Question: Dear Mad Jack...

An idle mind is something I can't remember just now, but I, personally, am easily bored to the point of distraction.  When that happens I sometimes point my trusty browser at Quora, just to generate a few laughs, bent minds, and fractured tempers.

Sometimes my answers get deleted by the ever-alert Quora Censorship Crew.  Other times they're either drunk or high (I suspect the latter) and my contribution of the overall knowledge of mankind remains unmolested - until some moonbat sees it and complains.

Socialism Defined

I rarely post someone else's comment or article in its entirety unless I'm giving it a caustic fisking.  However-comma I tripped over my breakfast bourbon and found this worthwhile gem on The Smallest Minority, Quote of the day - Not Real Socialism Edition, which in turn referenced a lengthy comment by Larry Correia, the author of Monster Hunter Nation and other works.

Let the Punishment Fit the Crime

Or, the screwin' ya get fer the screwin' ya got, as a wise old barfly advised me when I was just a tad.  He was talking about divorce and was somewhat bitter about it, which I couldn't understand then but am fully cognizant of now.  This is, of course, the man's point of view.  I imagine the woman's is somewhat different and might be more to the point.  Something along the lines of, 'Come near me again you sonuvabitch and I'll drop you with a deer rifle.'  At least if she has any sense and is fed up with being a combination dumping ground and punching bag for his worthless and ignorant, drunken and tar-heel stupid, just-got-fired-from-my-job-again fat ass.

That last is a bit verbose.  Any women wasting their time reading this feel free to help me out in the comments section.

The rest is a rant about the disciplinary action taken against two police officers regarding the Stormy Daniels arrest.  Read at your own risk.

Want To Know What's Really Happening in Sweden?

The Ludicrous Left wants you to believe that the Swedish government is so kind and generous that they took in a few overcrowded tramp steamers full of Muslim refugees, and everything is going along so well that the intelligent, progressive world societal experts at Time Magazine designated Greta Thunberg at the 2019 Person of the Year.  Now everyone is sitting around singing...

Keep going.  There's a great link below the fold, and as usual this post is not safe for anyone at work, or who lacks the hide of a rhinoceros or the sensitivity of a hungry badger.

Rant - V.P. Mike Pence and the Family Feud

You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family.  A great truism that I'm reminded of every so often.  Like last night, for instance.

The rest of this is largely a rant, not safe for work, and is not politically correct.  This is the official trigger warning to any thin skinned SJW that stumbled across this site by accident and when told not to pull the trigger because the gun is loaded - pulls the trigger.

Keep reading as it amuses you to do so.

An Original WTF? Moment

I'm going through my email like a stupe when I come across some kind of complimentary stat evaluation for Mad Jack's Shack.  Now, since this is from Google, anything I read has to be taken with the proverbial grain of salt, but still, it kind of looks believable.

The History Teacher Droned On...

Ha!
Ha!Ha!
Ha!Ha!Ha!

I'm making a joke here.  A play on words.

This diatribe is not safe for work, Church, or anyone (anything?) that even thinks it might be a snowflake.  Continue at your own risk.

Today is Hangover Day

I've got the shakes and I can't see straight.  Today is 1/1/2020; there should be something significant here, but I can't imagine what it might be.

So.

The Ancient Aquatic Aviation Officeholder left 2019 searching for answers to life's most difficult and thought provoking questions. Buoyed by my morning bourbon and being at loose ends until 2:00 PM (I'm invited to a Hoppin' John party - whatever that is) I will provide a few answers.

Happy New Year!!!

Complete with three bangs. This is reminiscent of the midnight racket I suffered when my neighbors decided to celebrate the New Year by unlimbering their gun collection and ridding themselves of some excess ammo.

Now, on to the questions.

Happy New Year! 2019 to 2020

This is the mandatory Happy New Year! post.  Happy happy 2020; happy goodbye to 2019.

The news in 2019, in review.  Note that these news events are selected arbitrarily, without any consideration for importance to the world around us or interest of the readers - all three of them.

Christmas 2019

I did the obligatory Christmas dinner, which was excellent.  My contribution was a plate of deviled eggs.

Deviled Eggs
The only thing left to do in 2019 was to go out shooting and finish out the day with a cocktail and a board game, which we did yesterday.  Big Mike, California Dave, and I all went to the range.

Plea for Help - Thank You! from Jackie

I set up a GoFundMe page for Jackie Ruth Brown Koson.  Here is a message sent to me from Jackie, which she asked me to share with everyone:

Thank you for setting up a GoFundme page under my name.  I have had tons of medical appointments that will continue for a while.  The good news is that I am now in physical therapy three times a week for the broken foot that I have had since June.  The Doctors discovered a second break which was not initially reported.

The surgery site is healing.  I will need further reconstruction in six months.

I need to maintain a healthy diet for my autoimmune disease.

I went to see my doctor today who told me to go buy scar away silicone patches which will help with further healing along with Vitamin E oil.

I was completely stressed today not knowing how I was going to meet all of the expenses that I have financially.  I came home to a GoFundme check in the mail which I am highly grateful for.

I would like to personally thank all the donors who donated funding.  I can not even put into words how much your donations mean to me.

I am forever grateful!

Warm regards to all,

Jackie Ruth Brown Koson
And there you have it.  The part that matters is not the amount; it's knowing that someone, somewhere cares about your well-being enough to send you a few bucks and maybe a prayer or two.

My sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of you for helping Jackie.

Plea For Help

It hits us all, even the most self-sufficient of us.  A few little things pile up - the truck throws a rod, and a few days later you have a grease fire in the kitchen, then a few days after that you're hauling a load of junk down to the curb for unlimited pickup day, and you step in a gopher hole and break your ankle in three places.  Now you can't work, and you can't get around.  And then?  Then you get cancer.

You Go When Your Number's Up

I came close to cashing in my chips yesterday (Saturday, 10/19/2019), but was saved at the last minute.  Here's the entire story in excruciating detail.

The Return of the Midnight Shooter

Important! Read this one...

If anyone reading this announcement plays games that are slightly more complex than slap jack, keep reading for hilarity that I truly wish I'd had a hand in designing.  For the rest of you, well... at least you can read.  Keep reading.  You'll love it.

Loads of Fertilizer For The Turbine Blades

Employee Abuse at Google

Take any or all of the top fifty tech companies, and Google will float to the top.  Being bored out of my mind recently, I decided to read Slashdot which is rare for me, and I stumbled over this story about employee abuse at Google.

Evidently, over the past few years, the tyrannical middle management at Google have a zero tolerance policy for whiners and whistle blowers, but there's a bit more to the story than the tip of the iceberg you can see, looming dead ahead in the fog.

Quora Question: Why is there air?

The old Coz knew the answer to that one.  Here's a few answers I posted on Quora, mainly to see how long my insightful if somewhat pithy responses would be tolerated by the overly sensitive Quora censors that protect humanity from people like me.

Of Mice and Mayhem

Wednesday morning (the infamous 9-11) I got ambitious enough to make eggs and bacon for breakfast.  Just for a change of pace, I scrambled the eggs in my small, cast iron skillet.  I inherited this from my great-uncle Clyde, who used it every morning during the depression.

Clyde was a bachelor, preferring the hell of his own making over the excruciating torment delightfully brought on by his one big mistake in life.  The man was content to live alone, and by all accounts was happiest that way.

After breakfast I went out to run some errand or other, and when I returned what should I find?  A nice, big field mouse helping itself to the leftover eggs in my skillet, which I'd thoughtfully left on the stove just for him.  The cute little pestilence would hop into the skillet and get some eggs, then hop out and hide under the skillet.

Right next to the burner.

God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael, the archangel, found him, resting on the seventh.

"Where have you been?" Michael asked.

Banned Words

All kinds of words have been banned over the years.  The first word that comes to my mind is antidisestablishmentarianism, but that's probably just me.  I'm a bit odd.

On my previous contribution to the overall knowledge of mankind, a casual reader delurked a left a single, succinct suggestion.

When you use the phrase "gun control" you cede most of the ground to The Enemy, who created that phrase for just that purpose. Use "disarming the law-abiding" because THAT is what is under "discussion" (a term you should also reject).

My thanks to Lens Larque for an excellent suggestion.

Beginning today, the phrase gun control will no longer appear in any of my posts.  Instead, I'll use disarming the law-abiding public.  I'll have to find something else to replace discussion with.  Something on the order of "unwarranted attack" comes to mind.

Comments may, of course, use whatever language the author of the comment sees fit.

Shootings and Solutions

Well, unless you've been incommunicado for the past week, you know all about the two new mass shootings that have the anti-freedom crowd frothing at the mouth.

Kicking around the Internet, I found one blogger who got it right, and who is worth reading.

Keep going, with the standard disclaimer about special little snowflakes and thin skinned moonbats getting their cute little hides branded.

My Interesting Life - 7/26/2019

Yesterday, while minding my own business, I missed getting into a traffic accident by ten feet or so, then I saw some poor little kid get punched out and decked by an adult while at my local Kroger's.  Here's my rant, complete with racist, misogynist, misandrist, and politically incorrect and callous comments.

All you special little snowflakes and SJWs better plug your ears and blind yourself with number two pencils before continuing.

Black Plague, Los Angeles Homeless, and a Crapcopter with a Flamethrower

That last should get Glen Filthie, owner and operator of Filthie's Thunderbox , started right up.  You see, Glen has been having an argument with the boys in the Treehouse Club about drones and low yield nuclear devices, Vulcan Cannons, and the end of the world as ISIS would like to know it.

Then there's Los Angeles and the brand knew revelation by a cartoonist and a noteworthy doctor that, surprise-surprise, L.A. is going to be facing a very serious health crises in the near future.

Keep reading for my politically incorrect rant, which is guaranteed to anger and activate any and all special little snowflakes in a sixty mile radius.  The drone argument is at the end.

SJWs Reach a Brand New Low

I broke my toes on an empty case of bourbon, fell into my office chair and multi-fingered the keyboard for about three eternities.  When I was able to see again, I found myself staring at Quillette, and the article Publicly Shaming a Musician for Calling a Composition by Its Name by Kurt Gottschalk.  It looked interesting.

The SJWs are still at it, this time in Nova Scotia.  The event was a gathering of... well, I better insert the standard warning before I continue, because I'm going to get nasty.  If you're an SJW, continue at your own risk.

Plight of the Children and Others

I saw this on... okay, somewhere.  I think it's incredibly stupid, and for any of you who want to know why I find it incredibly stupid, keep reading.  The rest of you can keep surfing.

Did You Know?

Use Your Words! Use Your Words!

I hear this all the time, mainly from Millennials trying to settle two or more squabbling kids.  Instead of saying, "You kids settle yourselves down, and I mean now!", they say "Use your words! Use your words!"

What words are they talking about?

Continue for a brief lesson on training children that hasn't won any awards from Psychology Today, Good Housekeeping, or Parenting magazine.

Bricks and Free Speech

I occasionally read Kim du Toit, and although I don't agree with everything he writes, he usually has a fairly solid take on political events.  At the very least, the man is demonstrably literate.

On a recent post Kim referenced a Tweet by some moronic Moonbat about Antifa disruptions, milkshakes, and bricks (see the pic).

Sarah Gailey
Another blogger who I'm not familiar with picked up the tweet and wrote about it:

Tor Books Blogger Sarah Gailey Calls For Violence and Murder After Reporter Andy Ngo Attacked by Antifa by John Trent

Tor Books blogger and the author of Magic for Liars and the American Hippo Sarah Gailey called for violence and murder following the attack on reporter Andy Ngo by members of Antifa.

Gailey, in a number of now-deleted tweets, called for not only violence against those opposing Antifa, but also called for murder.

On June 30th, Gailey tweeted, “If we can’t throw milkshakes I guess we’ll just have to go back to bricks.” One of the weapons used in the attack against Ngo was a milkshake. Portland police reported they had been informed that wet cement mix had been mixed in with milkshakes that were being used as weapons by Antifa.
Sarah Gailey has since deleted the tweets, they having served their purpose and now being something of a liability.  Kim wrote what I would call a typical Kim-style response in Kim du Toit - Gloves Off

From Kim:
I repeat, for the umpteenth time: are you Leftist lunatics absolutely sure you want to start down this road?
Continue reading for my own take on this one, but be forewarned: If you're a sensitive little POS or a member of some subculture that's always getting offended, take your Xanax before you continue reading.

Happy July 4th, 2019 - Independance Day!

I could pontificate about the bad old days, April 19, 1775 – September 3, 1783 (8 years, 4 months and 15 days), with the official ratification effective on May 12, 1784 (9 years and 23 days), but I won't.  The Revolutionary War was a tough time all over, mainly because the British were not the benevolent monarchy they thought they were, and most of their subjects were pissed off at them - enough to go after some relief.

You know how bad things have to get before people will organize to do anything, let alone take up arms and go to war?  Pretty bad, for sure.

These days we prefer to celebrate and proclaim our independence from tyrannical foreign powers.  Like Canada, for instance.

Keep reading for a few insights and inflammatory comments, not all of which are original.

An Accurate Tweet

I don't like Twitter.   I can't see tweeting anything much beyond the occasional insult to some foaming at the yap social sub-class whose members are terminally confused about reality and which restroom to use.

However, comma.

Big Mike shot this one over to me, and the author is completely in step with reality and is as succinct as he is accurate.

Tweet by James Poulos
Don't you just love it?  Portland, where you need an AR-15 and eyes in the back of your head if you're a journalist.  Los Angeles, where the rat problem is worse than New York City's, and gentrification consists of an outfitter's tent or a car that actually runs.  Then there's San Francisco, where residents are discovering weird new (to the U.S.) diseases that were previously confined to the open sewers of the middle ages and modernized third worlds.

So here's a tip of the old fedora and a hoist of the morning bourbon glass to James Poulos. I'd go out drinking with you anytime, James.

RFI: Blogger States and Other Mysteries

I'm looking over the statistics for my little slice of annoyance and trying to decide if I should be depressed or elated because, you see, on one hand people are actually reading my blog, but on the other hand my readers include people like that beer swilling, gun loving Canadian Glen Filthie, and when you come right down to it I'd like to think that a few respectable individuals waste their time here as opposed to TV SitCom reruns on Hulu.

Dispensing with the levity, I have one post that's getting a lot of hits and I don't know just why this might be.   The post with the heavy traffic is Restaurant Review: Simms Steakhouse, which is an ordinary review.  This would bother me a good deal less than it does, but one referring site is (interrupted)

Edit (6/24/19): click on apeniano dot top below at your own risk.  The site triggered Malwarebytes, then when I opted not to continue, it showed me a xxx nude female advertising something, and she wasn't pushing a new breakfast cereal.

My thanks to Ed for the heads up.

apeniano.top. The site doesn't seem to do anything or be anything, and I was hoping someone could shed a little light on this.

Would someone please enlighten me as to who or what apeniano dot top is?

David versus Goliath - Oberlin College

I picked up on A win for the little guys... thanks to the Old NFO, and while I was out drinking last night I heard that Oberlin got their Liberal philosophy shoved sideways up their collective fundament with a bucket of sand to make it fit better.  After that, they got the crap slapped out of them.

For anyone not familiar with this situation, here's a quick summary:

Dinner and Drinking

I have nothing profound to write about today, although news is plentiful if an idle person decides to look.  One story I enjoyed is available at the Antique Naval Flight Officer's blog, where our noble host celebrates a significant victory of a small but honest and trustworthy family owned business over the evil group of POS (perpetually offended snowflakes) that run Oberlin University, and who whipped the student body into a self-righteous knickers-twisted fury, when... go read it for yourself.

Hat Tip to Fred Reed

Here's a tip of the old fedora and a hoist of the early, early afternoon bourbon glass to that bellicose bellyacher, superior sorehead, that lovable old curmudgeon, Fred Reed.  Fred moved his blog from wherever it was to The Unz Review, where his work can be found at Fred Reed. The man himself can be found somewhere in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico.  Fred claims the relocation was necessary for financial reasons, and who am I to argue?  Me, I think Fred may be bringing in a few extra bucks, which is always nice.

I like reading Fred's articles, which I believe reflect whatever occurs to Fred that afternoon.  Should I ever win the lottery, I plan to take a trip to Mexico, find Fred, and buy him a drink.

Kermit Gosnell Employees and Associates Sentencing

Having read the book, Gosnell: The Untold Story of America's Most Prolific Serial Killer Kindle Edition by Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer , and seen the film Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer (2018), I can tell you that the entire case is horrific.  In my opinion the book and the film should not be available to anyone under 25; the things that are shown and described really did happen.

I have two questions about the entire Gosnell case - only two:

  • One, what happened to the employees who assisted Gosnell, or who knew what he was doing and never said anything?
  • Two, how many more fiends like Gosnell are out there, still operating freely?

Here's what I was able to discover, and it wasn't easy to find.

My comments are at the end of blog post and are not fit for anyone who is easily offended or has a thin skin.
